Come and hear what our Young Engineers have to say at the Ian Henderson Award Public Speaking Competition!!
The Ian Henderson Award is a public speaking competition for Young Engineers. The Award is based on the merit of the presentation of a paper on a subject related to engineering. This may be a social comment, technical, historical or a biographical paper. It could be based on a project, a technical visit or industrial case study.
Each entrant will deliver a 15 minute presentation followed by 10 minutes question time. The winner of the Ian Henderson Award will receive a cash prize of $600 and a certificate.
We invite you to come along and support the entrants below, be part of the audience and participate in question time. This is a FREE event for both Members and Non-Members.
Mr Ian Henderson
The award perpetuates the memory of Mr IFG Henderson who was employed by BHP Company Ltd for over 45 years and whose final appointment was Manager, Systems and Data Processing. Mr Henderson was closely associated with the Newcastle Division for many years until his death in 1975, and was particularly interested in graduate and student activities. He was chairman of Newcastle Division in 1966 and a Councillor of Engineers Australia in 1974.
