Future of Industry and JCEC 2018 Annual Meeting

Queensland JCEC presents "A Future of Industry" and Annual Meeting. The presentation by Chris Jansen will dicuss robotic alternatives for hazardous jobs and the role engineers can play in developing these life-saving technical devices
Future of Industry and JCEC 2018 Annual Meeting

Chris Jansen is an accomplished chemical engineer, winner of the 2018 Thyssenkrupp award for young chemical engineer in Australia & NZ, plus previous winner of the IChemE global awards for both process safety and young engineer of the year.

Chris' experience as both a refinery engineer at BP and a design engineer with WorleyParsons has led him to a unique route where he has been instrumental in the development of a new robotic product for unloading hazardous catalysts in inert environments from confined spaces during process plant maintenance shutdowns. Chris' work really shows that there are viable alternatives to putting people into harms' way.

The evening will also include JCEC's Annual Meeting. Nominations will be called for on the night and will continue to accept nominations up until the first meeting of 2019, at which point, the new committee will be elected. Anyone interested in being involved with the 2019 Committee, you can get a nomination form from Alasdair Beveridge, Keith Sharp or Rynhardt Grove.
