We are are delighted to invite local engineers to their first Goulburn Valley event of 2019, hosted in the brand new, state-of-the-art assembly hall at Furphy Engineering in Shepparton.
With Engineers Australia celebrating their centenary this year, and Furphy Engineering naming the new hall P150, in honour of their 150th year, it’s only fitting that this event looks to celebrate the engineering heritage in the region and promote the future of engineering.
Guests will receive an update from the Engineers Australia Victorian President as well as the General Manager, focusing on the increased support of engineers in the regions, the national push to introduction engineering legislation, and increasing the competence of the workforce through Chartership. Furphy Engineering’s Professional Development Partnership will be recognised and senior management staff will be awarded Chartership and EngExec status.
Furphy Engineering will also host a plant tour highlighting their newest initiatives and share learnings with the wider engineering community:
• Improved efficiency, quality and traceability of stainless steel tank and vessel manufacture through their dedicated 7,500sqm production line, featuring world class manufacturing techniques, equipment and innovative customised processes
• Demonstration of the new OMNI-CAM, their remote inspection device developed in-house specifically to reduce the risk to on-site tank inspections and improve ongoing maintenance and quality standards in Australian liquid processing facilities.
Following the tours, stay and enjoy light refreshments and networking opportunities. There will also be the opportunity to provide feedback to Engineers Australia staff and office bearers and to express your interest in supporting or leading the next phase of engineering excellence in the Goulburn Valley.
