Overview

Join this seminar for a general introduction to the state-of-the-art of mid-rise timber construction in Australia (history, outlook, supply chain…) and a coordinated set of references to WoodSolutions Technical Design Guides and related documents for implementing code compliance, main performances (structural, fire and acoustic), holistic cost engineering, constructability, durability and all the other aspect of project engineering.


Speakers will draw from experiences in recent and ongoing projects in Australia, discuss the changes approved within the forthcoming NCC2019 and describe how to use the available guides and test reports within project development and documentation, for optimised performances and efficiency.

 

Speakers 

Paolo has extensive experience in advisory and hands-on roles in the design and construction of mid-rise timber structures and project management.

Laurence has experience in Tier 1 construction, holistic understanding in project evaluation and design optimisation, estimation of construction programs and costs.

Boris is a code specialist, with an interest in fire performance and design of timber buildings and extensive experience in planning, coordinating and overseeing fire tests.
