Physical assets don’t last forever and organisations, naturally, seek to derive the most out of these resources during their life cycles. Careful and professional management of these assets is critical for any business, and in the case of physical assets, engineering teams play an essential role in that management.
ISO 55001, an internationally recognised standard in asset management, published in January 2014, places formalised requirements on such teams. It demands that they demonstrate, via independent audit, that they have a management system in place to assure a balance of performance, cost and risk necessary, to achieve required business value from their assets.
This two-day course brings you up to speed with ISO 55001 and gives you the skills and knowledge to master the complex art - or perhaps science - of asset management.
You’ll learn how to set asset management objectives, policies and models; identify the asset life cycle phases; align asset management with business objectives, determine routine maintenance process, decisions, schedules and tasks; apply systems engineering techniques using ISO 15288 as a guide and much more.
