Projects in the Pub: Hobart

Overview

Do you like to hear about interesting engineering projects and the challenges and learning outcomes from these projects?

Do you like to catch up with other engineers in a more relaxed environment (than the office, site or lecture theatre) to share stories of projects you have worked on?

Join us, in the pub, to hear about engineering projects from the perspective of expert speakers, and to re-connect with your peers before 2019 disappears for good.

This event gives engineers in the Southern region the opportunity to highlight and share their contributions to and outcomes from engineering projects they have worked on in their career, helping everyone to learn, and to recognise the achievements of their peers.

Jo O'Brien FIEAust CPEng EngExec

After school, at a loss for what to study, Jo thought engineering could serve both her environmental and humanitarian interests. She stood in the shortest queue on enrolment day and four years later became a civil engineer and a few years later, followed it up with post grad Environmental studies at Utas. Jo has used her degree to work in varied and exciting roles from Antartica to post tsunami Indonesia; from the Tasmanian off-shore natural gas pipeline to post cyclone Vanuatu. For the past six years Jo has worked with EPA Tasmania. She has just started a new role with the policy section to establish a container refund scheme for Tasmania.
