Kelly Coverdale, Field Orthopaedics (Presenter)
Experienced Biomedical Engineer Kelly Coverdale is the Chief Technical Officer of Brisbane-based, medical device development company Field Orthopaedics.
With extensive medical engineering industry practice incorporating medical device product development, and asset and maintenance management of medical devices and systems, Kelly’s key areas of expertise include design control, risk management and medical device regulation.
Her previous roles include R&D Engineer and Team Leader at Cook Medical and Biomedical Engineer/Manager of Biomedical Engineering at Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Kelly Chairs the QUT Engineering Course Advisory Group, is a Career Mentor for QUT Medical Engineering Students and received the 2012 EA Women in Biomedical Engineering Scholarship.
Cait Thomas, Field Orthopaedics
Cait Thomas is a design engineer and intern mentor with Brisbane-based medical device design company Field Orthopaedics.
A recent medical engineering graduate from QUT, Cait has contributed to the risk assessment of a class IIb implantable device; worked alongside the Head of Quality and Senior Engineer to write and implement the company's risk management procedure; assisted in the compilation of a technical dossier for submission to the EU regulatory region; and more recently contributed to a 510K submission to the FDA. Cait's areas of interest are risk management, and quality and regulatory compliance in technical documentation and procedures.
Roy Kei, Health Support Queensland
Roy Kei is a Biomedical Engineer with medical engineering industry experience incorporating asset and maintenance management of medical devices and systems.
His key areas of expertise include medical device regulation and risk management. He is currently the team leader of Biomedical Engineering at the Biomedical Technology Services who works for the major public health organizations in Brisbane North areas.
