Tim Bodisco is an academic in the mechanical engineering discipline at Deakin University. He has extensive experience in industry working as a mechanical engineer and a data scientist, predominately in the automotive industry in the UK. His main research interests include on-road vehicle research, engine emissions, air quality and meta-heuristic optimisation for data analysis. He has 14 years university teaching experience and is currently the Directory of the Master of Professional Practice (Engineering) course. In addition to being a Chartered Professional Engineer, Tim is also an accredited mathematician.

 

 

Mr. Pat Arundell

National Manager Chartered Assessment | Professional Standards and Practice Group

Pat Arundell is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience. He has worked in a range of industries including Power, Mining and Minerals Processing, Smelting, Water, Wastewater and Chemicals. He has lived and worked in every mainland state of Australia and twice in the NT. His roles have ranged from Operations Engineer through to managing a Business Unit for Bechtel. He is currently the General Manager of Chartered Assessment for Engineers Australia.

Ms. Derinda Smith 

Manager, Learning Advice and Assessments

Derinda Smith is a program manager and educator, with over 20 years’ experience in the tertiary education sector in Australia and internationally. She previously lived and taught in several countries overseas.  

She is the Manager of Learning Advisory and Assessments at DeakinCo, and leads the provision of academic advice to candidates undertaking Professional Practice credentials and degrees at Deakin. She also helps to incorporate credentials into corporate and executive educational programs, and runs pilots for such programs.  

Derinda also leads the assessment of all credentials at DeakinCo. 

She is passionate about the transformational power of education, and helping people to reach their true potential. She loves the empowerment which credentials give to those who complete them, and enjoys helping them along that journey.
