What will the future of work look like for people? In this talk, the impact of Technological Change on human labour will be discussed. Also how Technological Change has altered from Taylorism sparked by the industrial revolution, to today’s challenges of digitalisation for professional workers and managers. Furthermore, focus will be on the consequences of technological change for employees’ work design and their work experiences. Finally, a discourse regarding the importance of joint optimisation when developing and implementing technology in the workplace, will be undertaken. discuss How this would ideally look like in practice in the future, will also be discussed.

Giverny De Boeck
Giverny De Boeck is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Transformative Work Design, part of Curtin University (Australia). In 2019, she defended her Ph.D. in Business Economics at KU Leuven (Belgium) on the topic of the realisation of potential in the workplace. Her interests include talent management, work design, and professional identity. For her post-doc, she is studying these topics in relation to technological change.
