Join leaders of the Suburban Rail Loop Authority as they expand on the land use and precinct focus of the project and the overall benefits of SRL. This city shaping project will transform Victoria’s public transport system, revitalise Melbourne’s middle suburbs and create a long pipeline of jobs. With specific project focus, this presentation will offer unique insights into Australia’s largest transport project. Speakers will focus on station design / location with and discussing the importance of the project and how it links many of Melbourne’s key precincts.

Dr Stewart is an experienced capital projects leader, strategist, academic and management consultant specialising in infrastructure and energy. She is a recognised academic expert in theory of mega-events. 

 

Mick Douge - Director, Rail and Infrastructure Delivery, Suburban Rail Loop Authority

A 1980 combi van tour of Europe led the civil engineer to a chance job offer on an offshore oil rig in the North Sea. It was a launchpad to a forty-year career spanning the infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, water and waste water sectors. An industry leader in major projects management and delivery, Mick Douge has a wealth of global experience across, engineering and construction, safety and risk management and delivery organisations businesses strategies. As Director, Rail and Infrastructure of Melbourne’s Suburban Rail Loop, Mick Douge leads the planning phase team behind the development of the nation’s biggest infrastructure project as it prepares for construction in 2022.
