Cyber Security is a comprehensive and active field of research, particularly over the last two decades. Primary research in this field has studied the application of Cyber Security with respect to traditional IT systems and more recently, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) with regards to Operational Technology (OT) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Recently, a significant rise in computer power as well as the adoption of cloud technologies have seen computational power move toward the edge to drive the concept of fog and edge computing. This push to fog and edge computing paradigms has seen less capable edge devices being equipped with generic compute capability optimised for sophisticated computational tasks, and an ability to network that data via communications bearers.
Subsequently, the cyber security risk and associated attack surface to these connected autonomous vehicles (CAV) have increased significantly presenting a risk to wide-scale adoption of CAV.
In this webinar we will explore the impact of cyber security for connected autonomous vehicles by looking at recent research done at the University of South Australia. We provide a practical demonstration on how to bolster cyber security for an unmanned aerial system by utilising cloud-based infrastructure and secure software defined wide area networking.

Tom currently works for Fortinet as the Federal Government Enterprise Solution Architect Team Manager, where he works closely with Federal Government customers to help develop solutions to protect and secure critical network infrastructure. Tom is also a PhD candidate with the University of South Australia looking to develop a Resilient Security Supervisory System for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles.
